Read More: Howie Kendrick (2B – ANA), Kendrys Morales (1B – ANA), Erick Aybar (SS – ANA), Alberto Callaspo (3B – ANA), Albert Pujols (1B – ANA), Mark Trumbo (1B – ANA), Los Angeles Angels

The Los Angeles Angels on Monday announced they would tender contracts to all four of their remaining arbitration eligible players, per Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times. That includes first baseman Kendrys Morales, who has missed the last year and a half after breaking his left ankle.

Morales made $2.975 million in 2011 and missed the entire campaign while recovering from a second surgery on his left ankle, suffered while jumping on home plate to celebrate a walk-off grand slam on May 29, 2010. Morales was a candidate to be non-tendered given the signing of Albert Pujols and the emergence of first baseman Mark Trumbo, who finished second in the American League Rookie of the Year award balloting after hitting .254/.291/.477 while leading the Angels with 29 home runs and 87 RBI in 2011.

Infielders Howie Kendrick (he made $3.3 million in 2011), Erick Aybar ($3 million), and Alberto Callaspo ($2 million) are the other three Angels eligible for salary arbitration in 2011.

Angels Vs. Blue Jays: Peter Bourjos, Vernon Wells…

Read More: Dan Haren (P – ANA), Maicer Izturis (3B – ANA), Erick Aybar (SS – ANA), Ervin Santana (P – ANA), Vernon Wells (LF – ANA), Peter Bourjos (CF – ANA), Henderson Alvarez (P – TOR), Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Angels at Toronto Blue Jays, Sep 21, 2011 4:07 PM PDT

Peter Bourjos and Vernon Wells powered the Los Angeles Angels to a 7-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre on Wednesday night, the second straight win for the Halos. Dan Haren allowed one run in eight innings to pick up his 16th victory of the season, matching his career high, set in 2008 while with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Since the beginning of the 2005 season, Haren leads all of baseball with 236 starts and is second only to CC Sabathia with 1573 innings pitched. He needs to pitch at least five innings in his final regular season start, next Monday against the Texas Rangers, to set a new career high in innings, beating last year’s total of 235.

Bourjos tripled to lead off the third inning, and scored on a single by Maicer Izturis. It was the 10th triple of the year for Bourjos, making him the first Angels player ever with at least 25 doubles, 10 triples, 10 home runs, and 20 stolen bases. Bourjos then homered in the fifth, giving the Angels a 2-0 lead. He had three hits, falling a double short of the cycle, and a stolen base, and is hitting .272/.324/.444 on the season.

Wells hit a two run single against his former team in the sixth inning to widen the Halos’ lead to 4-0, then added a two-run home run in the eighth inning. Izturis had three singles and two runs batted in, and Erick Aybar had a double and a single, reaching base for the 33rd straight game.

Ervin Santana starts for the Angels in the series finale on Thursday, facing Henderson Alvarez for Toronto.

MLB: Toronto 3, LA Angels 2 (10 innings)

Published: Sept. 19, 2011 at 10:31 PM

TORONTO, Sept. 19 (UPI) — Mike McCoy reached on an error and came around to score on a 10th-inning fielder’s choice Monday, handing Toronto a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels.

A miscue by shortstop Erick Aybar put McCoy aboard leading off the 10th. He went to second on an Eric Thames single and to third on Jose Bautista’s groundout.

With the Angels’ infield and outfield playing in, McCoy took off for the plate when Adam Lind hit a sharp grounder to second that was scooped up by outfielder Torii Hunter, whose throw home was high.

Casey Janssen (6-0) earned the victory with a scoreless top of the 10th in relief of starter Ricky Romero, who held the Angels to two runs on six hits over nine innings.

Scott Downs (6-3) surrendered the winning run for the Angels, whose playoff hopes took a blow with the defeat.

Los Angeles fell five games behind idle first-place Texas in the American League West with the setback.
